Abstract
The present study provides an important addition to existing research on boundary theory by proposing and testing a conceptual framework in which friendship at work acts as a form of boundary management for one’s segmentation preferences and work-related outcomes. More specifically, it investigates whether there is an indirect effect of the dependent variable segmentation preferences on the independent variables job embeddedness and family-work enrichment, operating through the mediating variable of friendship at work.
