Sammendrag
Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) are wireless networks with no predetermined infrastructure, containing nodes that can form arbitrary topologies. Nodes cooperate to forward packets for each other, functioning both as routers and end-terminals, implying new security challenges compared to traditional networks.
The Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol is a MANET routing protocol, and the contribution of this thesis is designing and implementing an Identity-Based Signature (IBS)-scheme to secure routing information for OLSR. The implementation has a moduler design, allowing IBS-functions to be replaced easily, and is realized as a plugin to the OLSR-daemon created at UniK University Graduate Centre.
We perform functionality tests, which show that use of the plugin results in expected routing behavior, and performance tests showing acceptable processing speed when the plugin is running on todays systems.
