This thesis examines how a sample of Norwegian artists used social media in interaction with their followers during the time before, under, and after By:Larm 2013. I collected data from nine Norwegian artists, that were booked to play By:Larm in 2013, on Facebook, Twitter and SoundCloud. I then analyzed the data with regards to what kind of content the artists shared on the various social media, how the contact with their followers arose and was maintained, and how artists produced themselves on social media. The thesis is a case study of how social media actually was used by a variety of Norwegian artists for a limited period.
