Abstract
In this thesis I have examined how young people domesticate technology (mobile telephony and sms) to see whether and how such prosesses of passage and transition influences new articulations of gender.
Through interviews and analysis of nine young girls textmessages (sms), I have examined the multiple consequenses of their usage and comprehension of their selves by using mobile communication. Approaching the empirical material with a posstructuralistic and a discourse analytical view, I ve studied how the young girls possibilities and limits using mobile communication are shaping their comprehension of their selves, each other and the world, and also how they organize their everyday life.
