Abstract
Traditionally, genome browsers have been targeted at researchers in biology
and medicine. The goal of this project is to explore a novel utilisation of such
software. Can a genome browser be used for educational purposes in educational
contexts where non-experts constitute the target-group? This thesis performs what was regarded as necessary analyses and presents challenges, difficulties, and end results in attempting to create an educational genome browser.
