The work conducted during this thesis aims to raise awareness of the importance of Cold Chain Monitoring (CCM) and examine how real-time CCM can be supported in DHIS2. Through a Design Science Research, a CCM application integrated with the DHIS2 platform ecosystem was developed to answer the global need for better Cold chain monitoring. The application represents a Minimum viable product, an Android application developed in Java, using Bluetooth Low Energy technology to communicate with Bluetooth temperature sensors. Furthermore, the CCM application was piloted in the province of Zambezia in Mozambique and implemented at the health facility level. The study through the pilot aims to answer how real-time CCM can be supported in DHIS. Hopefully, this can be the initial effort of a broader CCM support in DHIS2eng
