COVID-19 y sus neologismos: Incorporación a la lengua española a través de la prensa

Abstract

El continuo desarrollo del mundo trae consigo infinidad de novedades y descubrimientos. La sociedad, por su parte, tiende a crear nuevas palabras no sólo para nombras estas nuevas realidades, sino también para comprender el por qué del surgimiento y desarrollo de éstas. La pandemia del coronavirus apareció a principios del 2020 y desde entonces no ha dejado de acompañarnos afectando, así, a todos los ámbitos de la sociedad. El ámbito de la lengua no se queda atrás, entre 2020 y 2021 se han introducido de forma masiva nuevas voces en el léxico español. En la siguiente investigación, se presentan los neologismos que han aparecido durante los dos primeros años de pandemia y, tomando como punto de partida la neología, se va a analizar según el proceso de formación que siguen con la intención de reconocer cuáles han sido los procesos más frecuentes. Además, nos proponemos investigar a través de la prensa si estas voces siguen las recomendaciones de la Real Academia Española en cuanto a gramática, ortografía y terminología.

The continuous development of the world brings with it an infinity of novelties and discoveries. On the other hand, society tends to create new words not only to name these new realities but also to understand the reason for their emergence and development. The coronavirus pandemic appeared at the beginning of 2020, and since then, it has not left our side, thus, affecting all scopes of society. The linguistic field is not far behind; between 2020 and 2021, new words have been massively introduced into the Spanish lexicon. In the following research, the neologisms that have appeared during the first two years of the pandemic are presented and, taking neology as a starting point, will be analyzed according to the formation processes. In addition, we intend to investigate through the press if these words follow the recommendations of the Royal Spanish Academy in terms of grammar, orthography and terminology.
