dc.description.abstractIn this thesis we give a quick overview of Photon Mapping, and two articles on how this can be accelerated on the GPU. We then explore how the solution from one of the articles can be extended to find a variably sized filter kernel for blurring photons into the scene. We present two different solutions for solving this, in addition to a brute force solution, of which one seems ideally suited for the problem.eng
