dc.description.abstract	The Valdres Group (?Cryogenian) has been sedimentologically and stratigraphically studied and sampled in a few key sites (Grønsennknippa, Mellane, Ormtjernkampen). The search for fossils in selected formations has been the target and one identified acantomorphic acritarch was discovered along with other organic matter of more uncertain heritage. In addition to the diamictite/tillite present in the Valdres Group succession, this facilitates a correlation with the well-known Hedmark Group to the east.
