This thesis deals with the development of an instrument for performing impedance measurements on cells. Small, portable, wearable and even implanted devices are becoming increasingly common in our daily lives and future medical devices need to become even smaller. The selected platform for this project is based on a system-on-chip (SoC) system, which provides the possibility of developing very small devices. The developed instrument is operated wirelessly by Bluetooth using either a computer or the developed mobile application. Measurements can be performed in the range between 10 Hz and 300 kHz and the instrument was tested on cells and compared with a commercial instrument. The tests showed promising results and also showed aspects that could be improved.en_US
