Abstract
This practical-theoretical master thesis aims to explore how a complex news case can be conveyed through a self-made chatbot. The main point of the study is to see how chatbots can convey news in a way that allows users to understand what is conveyed in an intuitive manner. Through a usability test of six respondents, with qualitaitve interviews, the thesis attempts to answer what the respondents think about different aspects of the dissemination, such as the structure of the chatbot, multimodal aspects, and how this complex news case presentation differs from traditional news online and in paper. The thesis has both a hypertexual theory perspective and theories related to user testing and interaction design. Focus on modalitites, interactivity, linearity and structure is prominent, including how the comprehension of the news case is conveyed.
