Nowadays there is an increasing amount of technology used to improve businesses. An important aspect of the business is planning on how to use available resource effectively to gain profit. As an example of a business scenario, we present a fast-food restaurant that has to plan the number of staff required based on an estimation of the amount of orders. An effect of bad or no plan would result in either later delivery times or even loss of profit due to human resources issues, which could result in a negative reputation for the restaurant. To study this problem a model will be developed, which can be used to plan the amount of staff based on an estimated number of orders. We also investigate if properties from distributed architectures such as concurrency, fault tolerance and scalability can be incorporated when planning business process. The model created was developed in ABS (a language for distributed and object-oriented models with Java like syntax). This gave a rough sketch on how could be planned for an estimated number of orders. The model also provided statistics such as predicted successful delivery rates based on available human resources and client workloads. From a business per- spective, this could be used to find out a good balance between human resources and profits.eng
