dc.description.abstractSynthetic aperture sonar images contain geometric distortions intrinsic to the imaging modality such as layover and shadow. These distortions cause information gaps in the image that are dependent on view aspect. It is possible to reduce these effects by viewing the same scene from multiple angles and fuse them into a more complete image. The result is a more comprehensive image, in which data gaps are strongly reduced and where it is possible to view multiple angles at the same time.eng
