In recent years, stories of forced marriage are being widely reported in western media .It is evident from these media reports that mostly cases of forced marriage are from developing third world countries especially subcontinent including Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. Forced marriage is an anti-women cultural practice and is often confused with arranged marriage. Forced marriage is not allowed in Islam however it is practiced in Pakistani society. In December 2011 law against forced marriage was passed by National assembly of the Pakistan ,for the protection of women. The present research study explores perception about forced marriage in Pakistan.eng
