Abstract
Combining the "lex orandi lex credendi" of liturgical theology with the experience of performing arts, that each performance is a new interpretation of the script, this paper proposes that the performed liturgy expresses a theology of its own. It seeks to analyse and interpret this theology of the performance, using analytical tools from performing arts. Its material consists of video recordings from two congregations in the Church of Norway. Four main categories are used to read the material: Focus, Body, Voice, and Space. The paper gives a detailed analysis and reading of the Offertory and Verba from the material. The aim is to see whether the four categories can enable us to analyse and interpret the different theologies expressed in the different performances.
