dc.description.abstract | Research analysis conducted on the evolution of American policy towards the Syrian War. This study uses a process tracing method of obtaining data, which spans from the beginning of the conflict until the use of chemical weapons on August 21, 2013. The data and subsequent analysis show how events on the ground in Syria altered America's strategic approach, as Washington carefully adjusted its calculus in the conflict to correspond with its greater strategic and security interests in the Middle East. | eng |
