Abstract
The Nordic countries have been ranked as the leaders in the adaptation and implementation of the new technologies (Grönlund 2007: 401). Within media modernization or in other words mediatization not only private but also a public institution, for example, governmental institutions have to become familiar with the new methods and disciplines in communication. It can be stated that right now media practitioners are forced to adapt to the expansion of the media message borders. Today more than ever both the political and general arenas have become international or in other words media is expanding its message across borders. Thesis will present how the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland have adapted to the social media, and in general the changes in the media field and what challenges these media have brought. During the thesis will be presented and discussed the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Finland activities on social media and at the same time will be analyzed the aims and best approaches how better the adaptation process of the social media could be managed.The evaluation will be made on social media activities which are done by the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Finland.
