Orkestergraven: død eller levende? Singbackens inntog i musikalnorge

Abstract

I løpet av de siste årene har singback gjort sitt store inntog i den norske musikal- og teaterbransjen, og funnet veien til de store kommersielle oppsetningene. Der singback før som regel ble brukt i mindre oppsetninger, skoleforestillinger og turné-musikaler er den nå blitt introdusert på noen av Norges største musikalscener. Hva er singback, og hvilke grunner kan det finnes for eller imot å bruke singback i musikaloppsetninger i Norge? Dette er ett av mange spørsmål jeg vil prøve å finne svar på i denne masteroppgaven.

Over the past few years, singback has made its big appearance in the Norwegian musical and theater industry, and found its way to the big commercial productions. Singback was generally used in smaller productions, school productions and touring musicals, but now its being introduced in some of Norway's largest musical venues. What is singback, and what reasons may there be for or against using the singback in Norwegian musical productions? This is one of many questions I will try to find the answer in this thesis.
