Problemi di traduzione di due romanzi italiani in norvegese

Abstract

Gjennom en lingvistisk analyse tar denne oppgaven for seg hvordan den sicilianske dialekten blir brukt sammen med italiensk i bøkene: Il cane di terracotta av Andrea Camilleri og La Mennulara av Simonetta Agnello Hornby. Analysen ser på hvordan dialekten er representert på forskjellige nivå: Fonetisk, morfologisk, syntaktisk og leksikalsk. Videre blir de overnevnte bøkenes norske oversettelser analysert: Terrakottahunden til Jon Rognlien og Mandelplukkersken til Tommy Watz. Det som fokuseres på er hvordan oversetterne har løst utfordringen ved at originalbøkene er skrevet vekselvis på italiensk og siciliansk dialekt. Oversetternes redegjørelse for deres valg i forhold til disse oversettelsene blir presentert etter hver analyse.

Through a linguistic analysis this thesis will investigate how the Sicilian dialect is used in conjunction with Italian in the following books: Il cane di terracotta by Andrea Camilleri and La Mennulara by Simonetta Agnello Hornby. The analysis will consider how the dialect is represented on different levels: phonetic, morphologic, syntactic and lexicalic. Additionally the Norwegian translation of the previously mentioned books will be analysed, namely: Terrakottahunden by Jon Rognlien and Mandelplukkersken by Tommy Watz. The focus will be on how the translators have solved the challenge of the original books manuscript alternating between Italian and Sicilian dialect. The translator’s account of their choices will be presented following each analysis.
