Fastlegen som psykolog : psykisk helse i allmennpraksis

Abstract

Fastlegen er den primære helsekontakten for de fleste pasienter i Norge, med psykiske så vel som somatiske plager. I denne hovedoppgaven intervjuer forfatteren sju fastleger om hvordan de arbeider med psykisk helse i allmennpraksis. Målet er å se på metodene som allmennpraktikeren bruker I disse konsultasjonene, og å få en forståelse for hvordan disse konsultasjonene oppleves av fastlegen.

Forfatterene benytter semistrukturerte intervjuer. Intervjuene fokuserer på hvordan legen arbeider med disse pasientene; hva slags utfordringer som oppstår i arbeidet; hva slags påvirkning arbeidet har på fastlegen; hvilke evner, erfaring og/eller kunnskap som hjelper ham/henne i dette arbeidet; og hvordan legen oppfatter samarbeidet med andrelinjetjenesten. Temaer og kategorier konstrueres gjennom tematisk analyse.

The General Physician (GP) is the primary health care contact for most patients in Norway, psychiatric as well as somatic. In this thesis, the author interviews seven GPs about their work with mental health in primary care. The goal is to investigate what methods the GP employs in these consultations, and how these consultations are experienced by the doctor.

The author employs semi-structured interviews. These interviews focus on how the GP works with these patients; what challenges he meets in this work; what emotional impact these consultations have on the GP; what skills, experience, and/or knowledge are helpful to him/her in this work; and how the physician perceives the colloboration with specialised mental health care. Themes and categories are constructed throug thematic analysis.
