Abstract
Background
We wanted to check the validity of one spesific question in the HUBRO- survey witch was held in Oslo in 2000 and 2002. This was a health- survey which included both ethnic Norwegians and foreigners from five different countries in Asia, living. In Norway. The question was: “How has your physical activity been in your free-time through the last year?”. We wanted to see if there were a gradient between the level of activity they replied and different biologic variables which varies accordingly to increased Physical activity (puls, BMI, systolic and diastolic blood preasure and HDL-cholesterol)
Material and methods
We used data collected in these HUBRO- surveys and chose to compare two groups: men and women from Norway and Pakistan born between 1955- 1971. We used SPSS to make graphs and show the results.
Results
The results are drawed in graphs. They show “more healthy” values for the persons who have sid they are very much active, in both groups.
Conclusions
The question in the survey is not good enough, because you have too few answer-alternatives in the lower part of the activity level. There should have been more alternatives between level 1 and level 2, so that you could have a more even spreading of the persons between the different levels.
