T coronary angiography - most appropriate for whom? Heart-vessel-disease is among one of the most common diseases in western society. CT coronary angiography has now proved to be a good study to do on suspicion of coronary pathology, in addition to other well established studies. The question is if there are certain groups of patients, according to their risk of heart-vessel-disease, where CT coronary angiography shows to be more appropriate. This task focuses on this question. One traditionally devides risk groups into ”under 10 %” (low risk), ”10-20 %” (intermediate) and ”over 20 %” (high) of having a fatal episode of heart-vessel-disease, within a 10-year-periode. One could argue for that if the patient has intermediate risk, CT is more appropriate than if the risk is low. More studies and experience need to be achieved.eng
