Ingens herre, ingens trell : en analyse

Abstract

Denne oppgaven er todelt. Første del er en radiodokumentar om Frode Rekves periode som redaktør i Norges siste partiavis, Halden Arbeiderblad. I programmet rulles Frode Rekves historie opp. Dokumentaren undersøker også om det er hold i påstandene om at makteliten i byen, ved representanter fra det lokale Arbeiderpartiet og fagforeninger, var misfornøyd med Rekves frie og uavhengige linje. Arbeiderpartiet og fagforeningene var de største eierne av avisen. Programmet viser at det er sannsynlig at de lokale eierne hadde andre forventninger til Rekves som redaktør.

I oppgavens andre del foretas en retorisk analyse av dokumentaren. Analysen viser at et journalistisk topos ligger til grunn for oppgaven, og at den er preget av en moderne journalistideologi. Det ideologiske budskapet kommer fram gjennom dokumentarens virkemidler og argument. Oppgaven viser også at journalistikkens syn på dokumentaren som dokumentert virkelighet, kan ses på som et brudd med den mer kunstneriske filmens dokumentardiskurs.

This master thesis is devided into two parts. The first part of the thesis is a radio documentary, Ingens Herre, Ingens trell, (Nobody’s master, nobody’a slave). It examines how and why the editor of the local newspaper in Halden, Frode Reke, got fired by his own board. The newspaper was owned by the local labour party and local unions, and it was the last of its kind in Norway. The documentary examines if there is any truth in the alligations that is put forward by people in the Halden society, that a small click of people, recruited from the local labour party, is running the city. The program shows that it is likely that this small group of people startet a campain against the editor of the newspaper, due to his disloyalty towards the Labour party group.

The analysis reveals that the documentary is based on a journalistic topos. Through a rethorical anlysis of Ingens Herre, Ingens trell, it becomes clear that journalistic ideology has influenced both the retorical strategies and the argumentation in the documentary. The thesis shows that the journalistic idea about documentary as documentation of reality in some way collides with the more artistic view on reality in the discourse of documentary.
