Sadomasochisme i film

Abstract

Holdningene til sadomasochismens «utøvere» har i løpet av de siste årene endret seg. Der man før vanligvis omtalte disse som en kultus bestående av nevrotikere som dyrket og glorifiserte vold og ondskap, kan man nå finne den samme gjengen omtalt som nesten vanlige folk. Fremstillingen av sadomasochisme i film har også endret seg i løpet av de siste årene, og Steven Shainbergs Secretary, Anahí Berneris Et år uten kjærlighet, og John Mayburys Love is the devil: Study for a portrait of Francis Bacon er eksempler på den nye fremstillingsmåten. Jeg foretar en nærlesning av disse filmene i lys av Sigmund Freud, Gilles Deleuze, og Felix Guattari + Gilles Deleuzes teorier om sadomasochisme, for å se om jeg kan trekke ut noen hovedemner som kan si noe om bruken av sadomasochisme i film.

The public's reactions to the «performers» of sadomasochism has changed a lot the last few years. Where they used to be viewed as a cult of neurotics who glorified violence and evil, they are now regarded as somewhat ordinary people. The portrayal of sadomasochism in movies has also chainged accordingly the last few years: Steven Shainbergs Secretary, Anahí Berneris A Year Without Love and John Mayburys Love is the devil: Study for a portrait of Francis Bacon are all prominent examples of this new way of seing them. Within this thesis I examine these movies and see if they portray sadomasochism in a way that are compatible with Sigmund Freud', Gilles Deleuze', and Felix Guattari + Gilles Deleuzes' theories on the subject, and if the movies, when compared to these theories, can tell us somthing about sadomasochism in film.
