Abstract
Forest of Bliss belyses igjen av denne oppsummerende diskusjonen.
Forest of Blissand the documentary's argumentative logic deals with aspects of one of the most pronounced characteristics of documentary discourse. The documentary film should «argue about a case in the world». This criterion is further examined here.
The instances of and articulation of, this norm for reasoning are here dealt with in a critical and theoretical discussion. A significant point of the discussion relates to what the criterion of argumentation implies for the constitution of a documentary film text. This is dealt with by contrasting the theoretical presentation of the implications of the criterion of argumentation, with studies of the textual constitution of the documentary Forest of Bliss.
The insight gained herein, is applied in a comparative discussion of performative documentary. This type of film is constructed according to norms other than what can be found in the argumentative documentary. Forest of Bliss is discussed in light of this above treatize.
