Bokhøsten i tabloid : en analyse av bokstoffet i Dagbladet og VG høsten 1993

Abstract

Denne hovedoppgaven omhandler bokanmeldelser og omtale av bøker i Dagbladet og Verdens Gang. Dagbladet innehar en lang tradisjon som Norges viktigste kulturavis/bokavis, samtidig som den har utviklet seg til å bli en moderne tabloid-avis, med alt hva dette innebærer av sensasjonelle vinklinger, layout etc. Dette i konkuranse med Verdens Gang, som ikke har tilsvarende kulturelle "forpliktelser" å ivareta.

Bokstoffet i de to avisene sammenlignes med utgangspunkt i den tradisjonelle kulturjournalistiske/litteraturkritikkens funksjoner, som settes opp mot tabloid-journalistikkens mest dominerende trekk; underholdningsfunksjonen. I lys av dette drøfter oppgaven hvilke "godt-stoff" - og vurderingskriterier som preger omtale - og kritikkjournalistikken i de to avisene.

This thesis deals with book reviews and articles about books in Dagbladet and Verdens Gang, the two major tabloids in Norway. Dagbladet has a long tradition as a literary and cultural newspaper. Verdens Gang is a newspaper without a similar cultural tradition. The two newspaper are compared in the view of the traditional cultural journalism and the functions of literary criticism, compared to the most dominating characterisics of the tabloid journalism; the amusement function. In this point of view the thesis discusses which criterias are the most dominating in the two newspapers, for both literary judgement and for the cultural journalism in general.
