Abstract
This thesis examines two TV channels’ cross-examination programs during the 2009 parliamentary election campaign in Norway. The analysis shows how interviews balance tactical issues against subject issues, what questions interviewees are asked, how the issues
they are confronted with correspond to their party's defined priority areas, how much air time each interviewee is given, and the number of interruptions during the interview. The methodology used is a quantified qualitative content analysis of a total of 14 interviews. One of the findings was biases in moderator treatment of politicians along the left-right political divide.
