Abstract
This MA thesis collects and investigates the Norwegian runic corpus from the period 1325-1500.
The thesis attempts to find out when the runic script disappeared in Norway.
It also investigates whether the Black death (1349) had a large impact on the usage of runes.
The corpus includes both Old Norse and Latin inscriptions, as well as uninterpretable inscriptions. The contents and cultural contexts of the various inscriptions are investigated.
Runes were carved into many different items and materials. This is discussed in a separate chapter.
