Una lettura contestuale della lirica di Peppino Mereu (1872-1901)

Abstract

Masteroppgaven min fokuserer på en kontekstuell lesning av noen av diktene til den sardinske poeten fra Tonara Peppino Mereu (1872-1901). Den historiske, sosiale og litterære konteksten i Mereus samtid, samt betydningen av disse både i samtiden og nåtiden blant sardinierne, står sentralt i oppgaven. Masteroppgaven er delt i to avsnitt. Det første avsnittet tar for seg den historiske utviklingen på Sardinia og i Tonara i 19. århundre, og Peppino Mereus dikter med den historske- og politiske konteksten som hovedtema. Det andre avsnittet handler om den tradisjonelle sardinske lyrikken, generelt om Scapigliatura og Crepuscolarismo og Mereus dikter som er knyttet til de tradisjonelle sardinske og italienske poetiske sjangrene.

My thesis focuses on the contextual reading of some of poems written by the Sardinian poet from Tonara Peppino Mereu (1872-1901). The historical, social and literary contest he lived in and the poems meaning both in the past and present times among Sardes are the central themes. My thesis comprises two chapters. The first chapter deals with the historical developement in Sardinia and in Tonara in the 19th century, and Peppino Mereu s poems with emphasize on the historical and political context as main theme. The second chapter discusses the traditional Sardinian poetry, generally with Scapigliatura and Crepuscolarismo, and Mereu s poems which are linked to the Sardinian and to the two traditional Italian poetic genres.
