Abstract
Fedrelandslaget var en stor norsk politisk organisasjon som eksisterte fra 1925-1940. Formålet var hovedsakelig å skape en borgerlig samling for som effektivt kunne løse den økonomiske krisen i landet og samtidig gjøre front mot den voksende arbeiderbevegelsen.
I mye eksisterende litteratur omtales de som fascister, nazister, populister, høyreaktivister eller andre lignende negative betegnelser. Likevel er det i senere tid dukket opp mer nyansert forskning om relaterte aktører i samme periode. En del av disse omtaler også Fedrelandslaget og plasserer de utenfor de ovenfor nevnte kategorier. Undersøkelser av kilder og litteratur om tema har støttet behovet for å revidere synet som spesifikt finnes om Fedrelandslaget Indirekte sier også oppgaven noe om hvordan vår historieforståelse om mellomkrigstiden er blitt dannet
The fatherland society was a norwegian organization wich existed from 1925-1940. Their object was to create an civic movement that efficiently could solve the economic crisis in Norway and at the same time stop the rising workingclass movement.
In most historic litterature, if they are even mentioned. they are categorized as fascists, nazi, populist, right-wing activist or other similar negative terms. In later years however, some research on other related topics in the same periode has appeared and. Some of these hace mentioned the Fatherland Society and placed them outside of those catergories mentioned above. Own research of the existing sources and litterature on the subject has supported the need to specifically revise the existing views of the fatherland society. This assignement will also indirectly touch the matter of how our historical understanding of the interwar years are created.
