The thesis examines the relation between the magnetic field as measured by MDI and the continuum intensity at four different wavelengths (1319, 1199, 1037 and 910Å) as measured by SUMER. A method for copointing the instruments is developed, and the correlation between several quantites (e.g. intensity oscillations and magnetic field strength) are analysed. The results indicate that there is some kind of coupling between the magnetic field and the dynamics of the solar chromosphere, and the results are of very good quality, mainly because of the copointing method and the resolutions of the instruments.nor
